This is a genius pick by the McCain camp that will surely have the Keith Olbermans and the rest of the partisan, disarrayed, in-fighting MSNBC political crew holding their blankies close tonight. Talk about a liberal implosion, Tim Russert, they need you! As usual FoxNews and surprisingly CNN had decent coverage of the DNCC.
Sarah Palin is a bold, refreshing choice and voice for our future. If I had a say on the campaign, I would rotate her throughout Montgomery and Delaware Counties in Pennsylvania and in Fairfax County, Virginia. Not to mention her home turf in the Great NW by putting Washington State and Oregon State back on the table. Remember, Oregon could be in play with this pick. I would say Washington State, but with King County's antics, that may be tough. Just ask "Governor" Rossi. Anyway, she should also play well in Colorado, New Mexico and Nevada.
Having invaluable experience in Alaska on an Interstate Conservancy Commission and National Energy Commission, Gov. Palin knows oil and knows what we need to do to help alleviate our pain at the pump while keeping our enviroment clean. Through a combination of what we can do now with fossil fuels and what we can do tomorrow with alternative energy, Governor Palin adds a much-needed boost to the McCain energy platform.
Finally, I must say kudos to Sen. McCain's inner circle for coming up big when they needed it the most. Watch the +3 point Obama bounce evaporate quickly. After all, what did Obama even say last night. My eyes were so fixated on the glitz, glare and fireworks of all those people at the stadium and Barackopolis setting behind him that all I heard was Bush this McCain that. He had no ideas! Here is one reason independents should NOT vote for Obama, he used Brittany Spears' set designer to create the Greek Temple you saw behind him last night - the Barackopolis. Toga, Toga, Toga.
Now, go launch the Hillary for Sarah coalition and get the Future Leaders coalition off the ground! Everyone knows that President Clinton and Obama do not get along, so this is a brilliant selection to woo our independent soccer/security moms to the McCain win column.
Go get 'em Johnny Mac!

Governor Palin is considered a rising star in the Republican Party. She is the state’s first female governor, the mother of five — and at 44 is its youngest chief executive.
The choice of Palin was kept under such tight wraps that even Palin’s mother said Friday morning that she had not yet heard from her daughter that she had been selected for the No. 2 spot on the GOP ticket.
“I’m sure she’s trying. We haven’t been off the phone for a second,” Palin’s mother, Sally Heath, said. The McCain camp issued a statement calling Palin a reformer who can work across the party aisle. “Governor Palin has challenged the influence of the big oil companies while fighting for the development of new energy resources. She leads a tate that matters to every one of us,” the statement said.
“In Alaska, Governor Palin challenged a corrupt system and passed a landmark ethics reform bill. She has actually used her veto and cut budgetary spending. She put a stop to the ‘bridge to nowhere’ that would have cost taxpayers $400 million dollars.”A McCain campaign aide described her as a perfect complement to the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.
“A maverick with a record of reform picks a maverick with a record of reform. With this pick John McCain is putting Washington on notice. There’s a shake-up coming,” the aide said.
